Security Council
The Security Management Partners’ Security Council is comprised of six industry security leaders whose charter is to advise SMP of real world problems facing IT security decision makers. This objective feedback helps to ensure that SMP is staying ahead of the security challenge curve across the financial, healthcare, bio-pharmaceutical, and corporate sectors. Lynne M. Burrow, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Cambridge Trust Company has over thirty years of bank management experience. In 1998, Ms. Burrow joined Cambridge Trust Company, a $1.2 billion bank with 11 branches and two wealth management offices in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. As Executive Vice President and CIO, she is responsible for the overall management of bank operations, strategic plan project management, Information Security and the Information Technology, Project Management, Items Processing and Deposit Operations Departments. In 2001, Ms. Burrow developed the bank’s Information Security Program to ensure the protection of customer and bank information. In 2004, she became the bank’s Executive sponsor for the Enterprise Risk Management Program; and in 2007, Ms. Burrow created the Incident Response methodology for breach prevention and management. Cambridge Trust Company case study Gerald S. Greeley, Director of Information Services, Winchester Hospital leads multiple departments that comprise the Information Services Division including Information Systems, Health Information Management and the Health Sciences Library. In addition, Mr. Greeley serves as the Hospital’s designated Security Official. Since 1988, he has planned for all facets of information technology and clinical information systems. Before joining Winchester Hospital, Mr. Greeley was Director of Information Systems at Milton Hospital, and Assistant Director for Clinical Computing at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He has also worked in related fields at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and Massachusetts General Hospital. Mr. Greeley is a member of College Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), Massachusetts Health Data Consortium CIO Forum, Massachusetts Technology Collaborative Massachusetts CPOE Initiative and Health Information Management and Systems Society (HIMSS). Peter Marshall, Vice President of Technology Services, Acushnet Company, a $1.4B company and home of the Titleist®, FootJoy®, and Pinnacle® brands. Acushnet, headquartered in Fairhaven, MA is the leading manufacturer and marketer of golf balls, golf clubs, golf shoes and golf gloves. Mr. Marshall oversees the global technology infrastructure, the data and voice networks, information security, data center services, server and storage administration and service desk in Acushnet's 45+ world locations. He is actively modernizing the Acushnet Company core infrastructure through projects including server virtualization and global network redesign. Prior to his current role, Mr. Marshall has been employed at Procter and Gamble Company, the Hewlett Packard Company, Reebok International, and the Adidas Group. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Computing Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend Indiana. Acushney Company case study Abigail Smith, Director IT Security & Collaboration Services, Purdue Pharma LP, a privately-held pharmaceutical company in Stamford, CT. Ms. Smith’s responsibilities include IT Security, Record and Content Management, Intranet and Internet strategies, and a focus on safeguarding company assets and limiting exposure to malware and data loss without compromising collaboration with internal or external providers. She oversees on- and off-shore development and manages a team supporting 300 Microsoft Sharepoint sites and 12 websites. Ms. Smith has 15 years of experience in IT including consulting, program and project management, R&D technology and process improvement. Larry Walker, Vice President and Data Processing Officer, Chelsea Groton Bank, an independent, full service community bank serving Southeastern Connecticut with 14 locations for over 150 years. Mr. Walker has managed IT Systems at the Bank since 1992. He ensures the effectiveness of the Bank’s IT resources which include IT staff, encrypted wide area network, LAN and other hardware/software. Mr. Walker is responsible for the design, configuration and support for all IT systems at the Bank. He manages IT risks and ensures compliance of IT operations. Mr. Walker negotiates contracts with vendors and service providers as well as acts as principal liaison to the Bank’s major systems vendors. Mr. Walker also designed and oversees testing of disaster recovery of IT systems and services. Andrew Weibel, Assistant Vice President of Information Systems, Westfield Bank, a 1.2 Billion dollar commercial bank servicing Hampden County Massachusetts communities with 11 locations. Mr. Weibel’s role in the Bank is to oversee the technical and security infrastructure and ensure its alignment with the Bank's strategic plan. He manages all technology hardware, systems, telecommunications, and technical operations and ensures compliance with GLBA, SOX, and other state and federal regulations. Mr. Weibel has been with Westfield Bank for over seven years, with a technical background spanning several years prior. |
